Not sure why, idk something just seems off. Lol
Could be the absolutely unbelievable prices. The name of the clearly fake stealership is Merto Motors and their page is full of this crap.

But you have to admit that it’s nice of Old Shel to roll out a CPO program

I’d like to know how an 1965 car can be CPO.

For the Shelby that’s not even 20%

Well if it’s that old obviously some one has owned it. It’s Certifiably been owned before even

If a Cobra isn’t in a climate controlled garage 100% of the time, it’s a replica.

If I see a cobra or a 356 I just assume it’s not real 100% of the time.

My understanding is that all the real ones were wrapped around trees years ago...

Just look at the title - see the prior owner’s name there, certified by the state? lol

The real crime is that it was listed as an auto when I can clearly see it’s a manual.

And yet, still 100% as fun if not more, because it’s not worth more than a small country’s GDP.

Unless you’re at a Concours this is a very safe assumption.

For Cobras in CA I still assume it’s fake, the replicas just don’t look right anyway, there are a lot of real 356s around here in Marin, I see a real one almost every day.

And make an automatic that looks like a manual so no one thinks you are a sissy

That is the case for many of them indeed, especially the ones which are still actively raced . There are even a few double chassis numbers, as the chassis plate was put on a fresh chassis after crashes, but the c rashed cars were later also repaired...
